The peellings can be superficial, medium and deep depending on the substance used. The peellings can improve fine wrinkles, acne scars, blemishes, and pre cancerous lesions. Chemical peeling is a technique used to improve the appearance of the skin. A chemical solution is applied to the skin, leading to their separation, flaking and the emergence of a new skin smoother and less wrinkled than the old skin. And she can still be matched in color.
The chemical peel is used to treat fine wrinkles, especially under the eyes and around the mouth. The wrinkles caused by the Sun, age and hereditary factors can be reduced or even eliminated by this procedure. Depressions, bumps and deeper wrinkles don’t respond to peeling and may require other surgical or cosmetic procedures. A dermatologist can help determine the most appropriate treatment for each case.
Minor scars and certain types of acne can also be treated with the chemical peel. In addition, pigmentation of the skin in the form of: Sun spots; age spots; because liver spots; freckles; spots because of the birth control pill; skin dull and without texture can be benefited with the chemical peel. The areas of skin that have been damaged by the Sun and escamantes lesions also improve after this peeling.
In certain types of skin there is a risk of developing a temporary or permanent color change. Birth control pills, pregnancy or family history of brown discoloration on the face may increase the possibility of developing an abnormal pigmentation. A persistent redness can occur for months.
Although very low, there is a risk of forming a scar after the chemical flake. If the scar occurs, it can be treated with good results. There is a small incidence of reactivation of herpes Labialis infection or simple in patients with a history of blistering because of fever. Before peeling it is important that the patient tells the doctor any case of keloid, tendency to abnormal scars, x-ray, radiation on the face or recurrent herpes Labialis, so that the doctor can take all the necessary precautions.
