Facial photorejuvenation

Facial Photorejuvenation

There are currently three types / techniques of photorejuvenation:
  • Chemical photorejuvenation, which is very similar to a peeling treatment;
  • Thermal photorejuvenation, which through the emission of radio frequencies induces a thermal effect on the skin;
  • Mechanical photorejuvenation using laser technology.

Main indications for photorejuvenation

Photorejuvenation treatments are recommended for people who want to correct skin damage and imperfections resulting from aging, especially from the age of thirty, and from exposure to heat and sunlight, particularly in people with:
  • Worn and poorly hydrated skin;
  • Very pronounced wrinkles;
  • Spots or hyperpigmentation;
  • Enlarged pores;
  • Skin disorders such as acne and rosacea, vascular lesions and lentigines.

HOW DOES LASER FACIAL PHOTOREJUVENATION WORK?

The laser applies light energy to the skin, penetrating into the deeper layers, which promotes the production of collagen and elastin. Several studies have demonstrated an increase in the number of fibroblasts, the cells responsible for producing these substances. On a superficial level, photorejuvenation contributes to the disappearance of spots and pigmentation resulting from exposure to sunlight and heat.

WHAT ARE THE SIDE EFFECTS?

The treatment is harmless, with few contraindications or side effects. In some skin types it may cause reversible spots. If the technique is poorly performed it may cause burns.

HOW EFFECTIVE IS IT?

It is effective for fine wrinkles, improves skin texture and the skin tone becomes brighter and with fewer spots, giving a more beautiful, youthful and confident appearance.

HOW MANY SESSIONS ARE NECESSARY?

In most cases, between four and five photorejuvenation sessions are carried out, spaced fifteen to thirty days apart, to obtain satisfactory results, after which maintenance is required.

IS ANY COMPLEMENTARY TREATMENT NECESSARY?

Most facial rejuvenation treatments are compatible with each other and the final result will be better the more they are combined. For example, it is possible to combine [peeling + laser + botulinum toxin].
