Radiofrequency

Radiofrequency

This non-invasive treatment is used to improve skin quality. The session is performed by applying a gel to the treated area, over which the radiofrequency handpiece is passed. The treatment is painless, with only a slight increase in local temperature felt.

MAIN INDICATIONS

Radiofrequency is indicated for combating wrinkles, expression lines, and double chin (fat under the chin).

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The radiofrequency device raises the temperature of the skin and muscle, causing the existing collagen to contract. Additionally, the increased temperature induces the production of more collagen and elastin fibers, as well as an increase in local metabolism. This cellular renewal improves the appearance, support, and firmness of the skin.

SIDE EFFECTS

After a radiofrequency session, there may be a sensation of redness, which disappears after a few hours.

EFFECTIVENESS

Considering that dermal cells need approximately 30 days to produce type I collagen and 90 days to produce type III collagen, results become visible after the third treatment session. The results last for many months, but due to the natural aging of the skin, it is advisable to undergo annual maintenance sessions.

HOW MANY SESSIONS ARE NEEDED?

The more sessions performed, the better the results. It is recommended to perform between 6 to 10 sessions, spaced 2 to 4 weeks apart.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Radiofrequency should not be performed in the following situations: skin diseases, coagulation disorders, and malignant tumors; during chemotherapy treatments; infectious-contagious diseases, endocrine diseases (diabetes, Cushing’s syndrome, thyroid imbalances), history of deep thrombosis; use of medications such as anticoagulants and corticosteroids; metal prostheses, pacemakers; skin areas with fillers, tattoos, and permanent makeup.
