Botox / Botulinum Toxin

Botox (or Botulinum Toxin) is an excellent treatment to prevent facial aging, being used in the treatment of expression lines and hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating).

When performed efficiently, Botox provides great results. This process relaxes expression lines, preventing expression wrinkles such as frowning or crow’s feet wrinkles, which is of great importance for aesthetic improvement. People often comment that the patient looks well, rested, and has a better appearance.

Areas where Botulinum Toxin can be applied:
  • Forehead wrinkles (expression lines)
  • Wrinkles between the eyebrows
  • Periorbital wrinkles (crow’s feet)
  • Axillary hyperhidrosis (excessive underarm sweating)
  • Gummy smile
Botox Duration

The effect begins to appear between 3 to 7 days, peaks between 12 to 14 days, and lasts around 4-6 months when applied to the face, and 9 months to 1 year when used for hyperhidrosis.

Post-Botox Application Care

There are some classic recommendations after Botox application:

  • Avoid sun exposure.
  • Do not lie down for 4 hours.
  • Avoid physical activities on the day of application.
  • Do not massage the treated area.
  • Avoid applying makeup for 12 hours.
Is there any problem using Botox and hyaluronic acid fillers together?

There is no problem at all. In fact, this practice is even recommended. Botox can prolong the effect of hyaluronic acid, as muscle paralysis reduces the risk of the filler migrating or being absorbed. These are two excellent options for facial rejuvenation.
