Leg Lift (Thigh Lift)
A leg lift is a surgery with very specific indications, primarily aimed at removing excess skin from the outer and/or inner thighs. This is usually due to significant weight loss, severe sagging, and cellulite in this area.
By removing the excess skin, friction is reduced, eliminating both aesthetic and health issues such as folliculitis (inflammation of hair follicles), difficulty walking (especially in hot weather), and even unpleasant odors.
The difference between a leg lift and liposuction is that liposuction focuses on reducing the volume between the thighs by aspirating the localized fat in that area. The leg lift, on the other hand, removes and repositions the excess skin.
Anesthesia
The procedure is done under deep sedation, and the patient is usually discharged the same day.
Recovery
Full recovery takes between 30 days and 3 months. Intense physical exercise is discouraged during the first three months. After about three to six months, as with any surgery, the final results will become visible once healing is complete.
