Fractionated CO2 Laser

Fractional CO2 Laser

The Fractional CO2 Laser is a laser with a high affinity for the water present in our skin. When used, it promotes vaporization followed by healing, which increases collagen production and reduces traumatic scars, surgical scars, stretch marks, acne marks and skin spots, while also promoting skin rejuvenation.

What are the advantages of the Fractional CO2 Laser?

The Fractional CO2 Laser allows small areas of unaffected skin to remain intact, promoting faster recovery and reducing side effects. Recovery is usually quick and does not affect the patient’s daily activities.

What are the indications for the Fractional CO2 Laser?

The Fractional CO2 Laser is recommended when the goal is to remodel the skin layers and stimulate collagen production, as well as reduce skin laxity and pigmentation spots.
Main indications include:
  • Acne scars;
  • Open / enlarged pores;
  • Skin spots: hyperpigmentation and melasma;
  • Stretch mark treatment;
  • Skin rejuvenation / skin laxity;
  • Facial wrinkle treatment: fine lip lines, forehead wrinkles and crow’s feet;
  • Treatment of age spots and sun spots: sun-related aging of the face, neck, chest and hands.

HOW IS THE TREATMENT PERFORMED?

The laser is applied using a scanner that distributes energy evenly across the skin surface. The procedure is relatively quick, taking around 25 minutes depending on the area treated. Typically, 3 to 6 sessions are required to achieve the expected results.

IS ANESTHESIA NECESSARY?

The treatment should be performed under local anesthesia or with a sedative.

Post-treatment care

Recovery time is quick, usually between 3 and 7 days, and does not prevent normal work activities. Main precautions after laser treatment include:
  • Avoid sun exposure for 15 days after the Fractional CO2 Laser treatment to prevent the appearance of spots;
  • Use cold thermal water;
  • Apply SPF 50+ sunscreen on treated areas.
