Cavitation
Cavitation treatment is non-invasive and used to reduce body measurements. The session is performed by applying a gel to the treatment area, over which the cavitation handpiece is moved. The treatment is painless, with only a slight buzzing in the ears due to the ultrasound effect on the body.
Main Indications
Cavitation is indicated for the elimination of localized fat that does not disappear with exercise and for reducing cellulite.
Besides helping to eliminate fat and improve body shape and skin appearance, this technique also enhances blood circulation, helping to break down fibroses and remove toxins.
How It Works
By applying ultrasound at specific frequencies, this technique releases fat from adipocytes (fat cells) into the lymphatic system without affecting surrounding tissues. Each session lasts about 30 minutes, depending on the size of the area being treated.
Side Effects
Cavitation is a safe, painless method that does not leave marks on the skin, allowing normal daily activities. However, during cavitation, fat is released into the lymphatic system, which may temporarily raise cholesterol levels. It is therefore advisable to perform lymphatic drainage or aerobic exercise on the day of the session to counteract this effect.
Efficacy
Volume loss can reach up to 2cm from the 3rd session onwards.
How Many Sessions Are Needed?
It is recommended to perform a minimum of 6 to 10 sessions. Treatments can be carried out every 72 hours.
Contraindications
Cavitation is contraindicated in the following situations: pregnancy, diabetes, uncontrolled high cholesterol, metallic prostheses, IUD, varicose or dilated veins in the treatment area, obesity, high blood pressure, epilepsy, cardiac disorders, and edema/fluid retention (in this case, about 3 lymphatic drainage sessions should be performed beforehand to improve lymphatic circulation).
